Director - Andy Thompson

Andy Thompson is the driving force behind Premier UK Soccer. Andy plays a integral role in the development of all participants within Premier UK's Structural Program. He has been with Premier UK for 2 years.

He has been involved in youth soccer for 8 years including coaching children within Professional Academies in England during the time he was completing his degree. He has worked in a number of States including Connecticut and New York but mainly within North Carolina.

Andy graduated from the University of Sunderland with a BSC (Hons) Degree in Sports and Exercise Development. Which involved studies in areas of Psychology of sport, sociology of sport, fitness, nutrition and coaching. He has Semi-Professional playing experience in England with West Auckland Town FC and Captained Sunderland University First Team while studying for his degree.

Andy also hold the following coaching qualifications: FA Level 1 & 2, including First Aid and Child Protection, UEFA B License, NCSAA National & Advanced Diploma and is listed on the Olympic Development Program Staff.

He is currently Head Coach for EWSA 96' Alliance Boys Team, EWSA 97' Crew Boys Team, MYSA '94 Storm Boys Team, MYSA U9 Sunderland Boys Team and Technical Director at MYSA.          

 

Coach - Nathan Bird

Nathan began employment with Premier UK Soccer August 2009 and began the role of Club Trainer to East Wake Soccer Association and Mebane Youth Soccer Association. During this time he took on the assistant role of the East Wake Alliance, ending the season on a high winning the 2009 Adidas Greensboro Classic Fall Championship. In the Spring 2010, Nathan will take on the role of Head Coach for the MYSA Heat 96’ team.

A native from Nantwich, England, Nathan grew up playing for Port Vale F.C and captained Stone Dominoes F. C. At the young age of 18, he moved across to the United States for a Men’s Soccer Scholarship for Lees-McRae College. He was part of the most winning team in the College’s history, winning the Conference Carolina Title twice and the Conference Carolina Tournament Title twice. He also appeared in the NCAA National Championship three years in a row reaching the Elite 8. He received a B.S. Degree in Sport Management and Minor Degree in Business becoming a four year Academic Honor Role student and the 2009 Sport Management student for his Graduating Class. During an extensive playing experience, Nathan travelled across to Colorado to train with the Colorado Rapids in the Mountains of Boulder, CO in the Professional Development League.

Nathan currently has his FA Coaching Badges and his NSCAA National Diploma. American Red-Cross CPR/AED Certified. Football Association Child Protection Certified.

He is currently Head Coach for MYSA '96 United Boys Team and EWSA '98 Explosion Girls Team and is Assistant Coach to MYSA U9 Sunderland Boys Team.
